From one day festivals to the big ones
It’s a British rock festival, held annually at Donington Park in Leicestershire, England, since 2003. This year, for the very first time, takes place in Madrid (Spain) as well in 22 – 24 June. The line up includes artist such a Linkin Park, System of a Down (after 12 years) and Prophets of Rage; three days of rock and metal music in the city centre. There is no camping zone but you have a plenty of hostels, apartaments and hotels. The venue is Caja mágica (Camino de Perales, s/n, Madrid)
Mad Cool festival
The first edition was in 2016 and took place in the Caja Mágica. In 2017 remains with the same spirit like FIB or Primavera Sound: rock, indie and pop and takes place in 6-8 July. This year we have Foo Fighters, Green day, Kings of Leon and more (3 day tickets sold out!!)

About Caja Mágica
Caja mágica: Mad Cool festival 2016
This venue is a multi-functional building but opens up and shapes itself to the various uses. The transport to get there are:
- Metro: San Fermín – Orcasur (line 3, yellow)
- Buses: 23, 78, 123 and N12 (night service). The stop is Glorieta San Martín de la Vega (check this link to find the routes)
- Parking: See the event info if you have your own transport. In the last Mad Cool, you had to pay for every day and is a bit far from the festival (see picture below from Mad Cool fest in 2016)
The schedule isn’t published yet but based on what happened in 2016, at least in Mad Cool, the concerts began at 18:00 and ended at 03:30, so there is no metro service or regular buses in the middle of the night.
For those who have car and you don’t wanna traffic jams: park in the GISS area (GISS is the Gerencia Informática de la Seguridad Social, Calle del Dr. Tolosa Latour, 7), in the evenings all the staff has left and is just 35 minutes walk from Caja Mágica.
- Festival transport: See the event info (probably not included in the ticket price)
